The Initial Game Pass Additions of 2026 Reveal Xbox Is Still Fighting.
Everywhere you go, fans keep sounding the death bells for the Xbox brand. Microsoft's console just got outsold by a lesser-known competitor. Dedicated Xbox communities are now publishing content about PlayStation as a new development. 2025 was a period of total upheaval for Xbox and Microsoft. But if we're going solely off what's coming to Game Pass in 2026, it's evident that Microsoft continues to plan to attract subscribers with quality releases on its flagship service.
The Available Now Titles
The two games currently accessible at this moment, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, don't represent the biggest draws. Instead, the excitement lies in what's arriving to Game Pass over the next few weeks that's worth getting excited about.
Significant Forthcoming Releases
Starting January 13th, the subscription service will add the often-overlooked Star Wars Outlaws, a sprawling adventure that refreshes conventional open-world tropes with an intergalactic heist adventure. Another big get is Resident Evil Village and its giant Lady Dimitrescu, which our 2021 review called "a superb mixture of terror and combat."
Intriguing Niche Additions
Yet, the less-hyped additions coming to Game Pass soon deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, the criminally overlooked roguelike that's a blast to play, arrives January 7th — and it merits a playthrough whether or not you experienced the first Lost in Random game.
The British post-apocalyptic game from last year might get its hooks in you within just a quarter of an hour.
Atomfall, the stealth survival game by Rebellion Developments, is also a game to check out. Ultimate tier members also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to anticipate.
A Well-Rounded Collection
All in all, these titles aren't industry-shaking releases to Game Pass, nor are they massive exclusive blockbusters that validate the subscription in the first place. But Microsoft's additions here are rock solid. The lineup provides a solid mix of old games you might have missed and new-ish games that lacked the recognition they deserved the first time around — rendering them perfect candidates to get a second chance on Game Pass.
You might need to brace yourself to say goodbye to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, as it happens.
