It's difficult for the Australian squad to break new ground.

The greatest achievements have long been mastered.

We're talking about the unit that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, along with another six T20 titles, and once went nearly four years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, targeted by the achievement hunters, are what's still available for a team that has won it all.

That it took up to Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase over 300, taking back their record for the largest in the female 50-over format, is, in truth, a testament to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over the past 50 years.

It is hard for their batters to maintain a record if never given the chance.

That loss "motivated us to reevaluate our levels," Healy stated recently.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the final and was named player of the tournament. She ensured her country would not come up short.

The question of whether this newest brilliant performance topped that previous effort is debatable.

Certain people claim the argument supporting the pressure of a final. Different voices suggest with the difficulty that comes when facing a record target and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's clear is this ton was considerably tougher to anticipate.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 occurred when she led the batting statistics, but this knock was preceded by six games in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"For those following me in practice sessions, it was a disappointing period because it appeared I've had no rhythm completely," stated Healy.

"Yet the moment you enter the playing area, your competitive instincts kick in and you just lock into the competition."

"An opportunity to play and engage in competition with her and simply enjoy myself that way, somewhat inspired me," commented Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 balls - her fastest at a World Cup - and her hundred in 84 as she flogged anything short, hitting 21 fours and three maximums.

When she was out the team needed 66 additional runs at run per delivery - an achievable target now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I'm pleased we have the belief to achieve that now," added Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to repeat it but, should it happen, we believe we can do it."

Those words will be the ultimate thing competing nations at this championship need to hear.

In recent days a belief they will succeed regardless of circumstances has grown stronger - this victory coming after victory over Pakistan by 107 runs despite being 76-7 at one point.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a match against old rivals England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a last-four spot may probably be guaranteed.

It was at that stage they were eliminated from the prior year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - an encounter Healy was absent due to torn tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the inaugural occasion at an important competition.

Such is her determination, she later said she wished she had played despite the injury.

Yet even as she later admitted those injuries have pushed back consideration of ending her career, this tournament is anticipated as her concluding event as leader in 50-over cricket and she is yet to win an international tournament as skipper.

Victory in India would take her to the summit of her ultimate challenge.
