Jet Transporting Pete Hegseth Forced to Touch Down in UK Due to Crack in Cockpit Window
A jet ferrying the US defense secretary was required to make an unplanned landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday after a crack was found in the plane's windshield, per an official statement which confirmed that all passengers were secure.
"The jet touched down based on established safety measures and all individuals on the flight, such as Defense Secretary Hegseth, is secure," a spokesperson commented in a public statement.
The secretary was coming back from a brief trip to the Belgian capital at the time.
This occurrence is not the initial instance that a American defense plane transporting a senior official has encountered equipment failures.
Months ago, a US Air Force plane carrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to Munich was forced to head back to the US capital after encountering a mechanical problem.
