19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been achieved on hardcourt
A comeback the Russian player claimed his maiden title for over two years with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.
The Russian, a former world number one, has endured a torrid year, winning just one match at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the New York tournament.
His unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serving in specific - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and ultimately separating with long-term coach Gilles Cervara.
Now collaborating with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily advanced in the recent weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought competitive victory over opponent Moutet.
It is the player's initial championship after the Italian tournament and maiden on a hardcourt from March of the previous year.
The win also indicates the Russian has won 21 victories at 21 distinct competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a event with my two daughters at once, so to secure a championship is especially meaningful," said ranked player Medvedev.
"This victory is in tribute of my second daughter her name, because the first title I got when my first daughter her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had lost his previous six finals, including in that event earlier this year.
Medvedev's counter-punching play style and frequent reactions on court had prompted observers to doubt if his skill to compete at the top level was over.
But the player has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and compete aggressively, supported by an enhanced service.
He came back from a break down in the first set against the difficult Moutet, securing four of the final five games to go ahead.
Both players exchanged breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour title, took control to push for a final set.
He defended four early opportunities in a tight final set before the champion broke to 15 to serve for the match.
Appropriately, Medvedev clinched the win with a point at the net area, with the Frenchman unable to control a shot after a lengthy match.
