Barça Ready for First Fixture at Renovated Camp Nou over the weekend
Barcelona have announced they are set to host at the partially upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday. The club will host the Basque side in La Liga two and a half years following their departure to allow renovations to start.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity with 45,401 fans are permitted inside under the licence granted. After final construction, it will accommodate over 104,000 attendees, increasing from the former 99,000. Officials confirmed recent additions comprise a renovated tunnel for players plus modern locker rooms.
Preparatory Events
Barcelona held a fan-accessible workout at the Camp Nou earlier this month. They mentioned they were hoping for permission by UEFA for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt on 9 December at Camp Nou. They have been hosting matches in the temporary ground.
