Local Law Enforcement
Around 50 automobiles have been marked with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's city of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Cars, walls and mailboxes were vandalized, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they reported in a official communication.
Officers state they were contacted during the night on Wednesday night, when a man observed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued liquid.
The substance had been drawn in the pattern of a banned symbol, they added.
Police then found multiple other smeared vehicles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.
These symbols are illegal in Germany under legislation outlawing the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.
Law enforcement report early analysis indicate the liquid was probably human bodily fluid.
"There is still no indication as to its origin; investigators are not yet informed of any injuries in relation with the occurrence," they added.
Municipal representatives said they were working "to solve the case" and have requested to the residents for tips.
An important political figure commented the attack rendered him stunned and had to be addressed promptly.
"This incident hits the very heart of Hanau and revives the pain of the extremist terrorist attack in 2020," he wrote on a platform, mentioning the murder of nine people by a gunman focusing on residents of foreign heritage in 2020.
